Nicki Minaj and President Donald Trump have made their political alliance increasingly public, but their latest appearance together included a personal comment that quickly grabbed attention.
During a Republican rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, Oct. 25, Trump singled out the rapper while addressing the crowd. As he discussed previous comments he made about another politician’s physique, the president turned his attention to Minaj, offering an unexpected compliment about her appearance.

“I’ve never done that with a man before. Off the record, women? Yes. Men? No,” Trump said while explaining his earlier remarks about Republican Sen. Jon Husted. He then added, “By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a– before: Nicki Minaj.”
Trump continued by saying the rapper was “hard to miss” before encouraging her to stand up. Minaj rose from her seat and waved to the audience as the president expressed his admiration for her.
“I hope Nicki wasn’t insulted, but we love Nicki. She’s been with us for a long time,” he said.
The comments came as the two appeared together to support Republican candidates in Michigan ahead of the midterm elections. Former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers is running against Democrat Abdul El-Sayed for a U.S. Senate seat, while Republican Rep. John James is seeking the governor’s office against Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.

Minaj also took the stage to address the crowd, making clear that her support for Trump extends beyond a single appearance. She encouraged Michigan residents to participate in what she described as a major turning point for the country and shared her views on gender-affirming care for transgender minors.
The rapper closed her remarks by directly addressing the president and promising continued support.
“President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again,” she said.

Minaj’s political relationship with Trump represents a shift from her earlier criticism of his immigration policies during his first term. During his second term, she has appeared alongside him at several events, including a White House luncheon and a summit promoting Trump Accounts.

Trump later praised Minaj again during Sunday’s rally, saying she had never looked more beautiful and describing her as a special and intelligent person.
The appearance adds another chapter to the rapper’s increasingly visible political involvement, while Trump’s remarks have drawn attention to the unusual dynamic between the president and one of hip-hop’s most recognizable stars.
