John Boyega is embracing life as a father after revealing that he and his wife have welcomed their first child together. The actor recently gave fans a glimpse of his growing family, sharing sweet moments with his newborn son on social media.

In an Instagram post Tuesday, Boyega shared a short video of himself gently rocking the baby in his arms and stroking the top of his head. The collection of photos also included what appeared to be a baby shower, where Boyega posed with his wife as she showed off her pregnancy bump.
“Our bundle of joy has been with us for some time now but thank you for all the well wishes. Also my sister is about to pop! Wish her well too! 
,” he wrote.
The announcement quickly attracted congratulatory messages from fellow entertainers. Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson celebrated the news, praising the couple and joking that Boyega was putting pressure on other men. Actress Teyonah Parris also offered her congratulations. Boyega’s wife joined the conversation with an affectionate message of her own.
Although Boyega did not identify his wife by name in his earlier interview, his recent photos featured Lashontae “Tae” Heckard, an actress and model known for appearances in The Game, ATL and #blackAF. Heckard also uses the name Tae Boyega on Instagram.

The baby’s arrival follows Boyega’s October 4 interview with The Guardian, in which he revealed that he had been married for two years and was expecting a son. The British actor, who has Nigerian roots, explained that he and his wife preferred to keep their wedding private rather than make a major public event out of it.
“We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry,” he said, adding that they might eventually hold a larger celebration in Nigeria.

Boyega is also stepping into fatherhood as a stepparent. Heckard has a son, Brandon Byron Jennings Jr., with former NBA player Brandon Jennings. Boyega previously confirmed that he had become a stepfather, and his latest Instagram post included a photo of the couple with the older boy.
The actor has spoken about wanting to be a consistent, loving and present parent, even if that means stepping away from work at times to focus on family.

The personal news comes as Boyega promotes Damilola: The Untold Story, a documentary about the death of his childhood friend Damilola Taylor. Boyega was eight years old when Taylor was killed in London in 2000 and was among the last people to see him alive. He has said he hopes to share the documentary with his son when he is older.
For now, Boyega is enjoying this new chapter while keeping much of his family life private.
