Tyreek Hill has been ordered to pay his estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro, $500,000 after a jury found him liable for two counts of battery following a civil trial in Miami.
The six-person jury delivered its verdict on October 13, concluding a weeklong proceeding involving allegations of abuse during the couple’s marriage. Jurors awarded Vaccaro compensatory damages but declined to grant punitive damages. They also rejected five other battery claims, an assault claim, an allegation of intentional infliction of emotional distress and a claim involving continuing domestic violence.

The case centered on incidents that allegedly occurred in January 2024 and April 2025. Vaccaro testified that one confrontation began during a disagreement over a proposed postnuptial agreement. She alleged that Hill knocked her down, tore off her necklace and placed his hands around her neck. Jurors also saw a photograph she said showed a red mark near her collarbone after the incident.
Evidence presented about a second confrontation included part of a 911 call made by Vaccaro’s mother and audio recorded by a nanny camera. Vaccaro filed for divorce the day after the April 2025 incident.
Hill, 32, denied many of the allegations while testifying, although he acknowledged shoving Vaccaro during one confrontation. On October 9, he also apologized for verbally abusing her and expressed regret over language captured in recordings presented to the jury.

When asked whether he had been a good husband, Hill admitted he had fallen short. He compared reviewing his behavior to watching football footage, explaining that there were areas where he needed to improve.
However, Hill disputed Vaccaro’s claim that he threw her through a wall. He testified that a door damaged the wall as he attempted to get away from her.

Following the verdict, both legal teams pointed to different aspects of the outcome. Vaccaro’s attorneys had requested $8 million in closing arguments, and her attorney Evan Marks said the team was satisfied with the jury’s decision. Hill’s attorney, Michael Gottlieb, emphasized that jurors rejected several claims and described the result as a defense verdict from his client’s perspective.
The NFL also said the matter remained under review under its personal conduct policy.
Hill is currently a free agent after the Miami Dolphins released him in February with a failed-physical designation. He has been recovering from a knee dislocation and ligament damage suffered in September 2025. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said discussions with multiple teams were continuing, although no signing was imminent.
